I come up with new ideas while on the road. Literally, I can be running, walking, or driving and ideas just pop into my head. Due to this, I often drive with a notebook on the passenger side seat to jot down my rambling thoughts. Several times while driving on Interstate 95 from Maine to Maryland, I kept coming up with different themes, motivations, and ideas for the next two books in the Fox and the Girl series. I have to admit even for me this is pretty exciting. The fact drafts are already down for the first two is fast even by my standards. Usually I come up with a few ideas, write something and then take a break for months before starting something new. It appears the new normal is to come up with ideas and write the next book. Book 3: The Great Loon will be started at some point this week. I don’t think I’ll find as much time to plug through it like the first two, but you never know. In the very least, I’ll have a good start before I arrive in Italy in 6 weeks.
